A homeless man who fell from an overpass onto the railroad tracks below was rescued Tuesday morning, a Metro North spokeswoman said.

The man suffered a broken leg, Marjorie Anders said. There was no interruption in rail service, she said, because the tracks are not on the main line.

He was removed from the tracks about 8:30 a.m., Anders said.

She said the man had been sleeping on a ledge under the elevated road, Cedar Street, when he dropped 25 feet to the tracks below.
